PPA’s Sechelt operations are within the territory of the “shíshálh Nation” (Sechelt Indian Band). PPA and the shíshálh Nation signed a participation agreement that sets the foundation for discussions regarding the development of joint business opportunities that will garner social and economic benefits.

The purpose of the participation agreement is to confirm the commitment of the shíshálh Nation and PPA to work together to establish a joint process that allows the Parties to engage in a dialogue on a broad range of issues related to PPA’s Sechelt mining activities in the shíshálh Nation’s territory, including related social, economic, cultural/archaeological and environmental issues, and to improve the understanding of each other’s interests, with the intent of fostering the development of mutually beneficial, long-term working relationships.
